This lesson is designed for very young students who may want a bit of a challenge.
Square numbers are generally reserved for older kids, but this lesson uses building blocks to review lessons on shapes, counting, creativity, and very basic addition.
Then, we introduce SQUARE numbers - using actual square building blocks, the students associate square shape with the numbers of bumps in the block, and also the number of rows "down" and columns "across" - learning that these are the same.
Very cool lesson for those A+ kids who may be getting bored.
Also, the visuals are very BRIGHT and colorful. This is sure to be a hit!!
