The art auction game! This is a fun game based to some degree on the concept of the Wits and Wagers Game. (This probably works better for a small group—5-12 people perhaps.) The teacher looks up the prices of some artists’ works (I have included several that I like—including many from Mexico and Spain)on an art auction website and shows the student the work, and then asks the students to guess what these works sold for. They then bet on their or someone else's answer.
. I use the art auction website http://www.askart.com/AskART/index.aspx
because they list the low asking price and the amount that the work sold for. The drawback with this site is that one has to pay for it --$13 for a one day use.
Adults love this game!
