We all know that kids learn best through play. This is a fun activity to get the kids to practice and learn a rote skill, without realizing it. This activity is very engaging for boys! It is great to put out to also teach skip counting as part of your math centers to support your students mental math. This activity would also be great in an outside classroom environment and is perfect for a play based learning class!
This center is a hit and is never empty in my class of 32 students. Each child gets one bean bag. When they toss the bean bag and it lands on a number they record the number on their recording sheet. Students develop turn taking, personal social skills and gross motor skills all while reinforcing their number knowledge!
