Each card features a PYP learner profile attribute with a picture appropriate for early childhood or lower elementary kids.
How to use these cards:
- Cut them apart and give them out as little awards.
- Glue them onto strips of paper to make a border for your learner profile bulletin board.
- Make them into a mini book. Ask students to tell what's happening in each picture and to think of other examples
(I included a card for "risk-taker" as well as "courageous")
Please note, my drawings are handmade with lots of character! Someone once complimented my decorations because they would "encourage kids who can't draw well to try anyway". If you are looking for AutoCAD clip art this is not the right product for you.
I created these to be accessible to four-year-olds! So EC, kindergarten & grade 1 teachers, if you are wondering how to help your young learners understand these words, you've come to the right place!
Here is a summary of what's happening on each card:
Risk-taker: Raising hand in class
Courageous: Going to the nurse
Caring: Thinking of others
Communicator: Giving a high five (you might point out that one of the children may not be able to speak English but the two kids can still communicate!)
Thinker: Child with a thought bubble
Balanced: Exercising (doing yoga)
Reflective: Looking at art project and thinking about improving it
Knowledgeable: Sharing information during carpet time
Open-minded: Accepting someone else's idea of which toy to play with
Inquirer: Asking questions while reading a book
Principled: Turning in found money
Thanks for looking, and enjoy the product :-)
