I think bullying is an important topic that needs to be talked about more, but it can sometimes be challenging to make it into an entertaining lesson. I figured what better way to do it than to frame it around the glorious 80s cheese that is “The Karate Kid”. This lesson went over really well in China, where everyone already knows about the remake with Jackie Chan and Will Smith’s untalented son. The boys in my classes especially liked it. They were practicing crane kicks in the hallways between classes! I have highlighted some potential vocabulary words in red throughout the lesson, and the rest is pretty straightforward.
