Color recognition is not as easy as it seems! These activities take into consideration different learning styles.
Tic-Tac-Toe: Play it with the red apples and yellow banana markers, or play it with real object––acorns, buttons, rocks, dandelions etc.
Match it Memory Game: Build those memory skills––so important for young learners. The pictures the kids need to match are colorful and interesting making the task a bit easier.
Colors Scavenger Hunt: Children learn best when they can manipulate concrete objects and this center fits the bill.
The nine color mats included feature photographs of REAL objects. Children must look around the room (or have the scavenger hunt outside) and match an object to the picture. This activity gets kids moving and invites them to put on their thinking caps.
* Color names are labeled on each picture so children begin to connect the word with the color to enhance reading skills.
