As our kindergarten standards become more strenuous I have found a way to incorporate my parents in helping my students learn their letters and sounds. This is a little extra intervention that has seemed to work GREAT for me. My parents love to be included in their child's learning.
My students come into my class a many different levels, as I am sure they do in your class also. After I have done my initial assessments, I identify the students who seem to be having difficulty learning their letters and/or sounds. If I believe that they will need a little extra push to learn the letters and/or sounds I begin this program. If my students have a good foundation of letters and/or sounds I do not begin this with them right away.
The students practice these at home every night and we go over them everyday in class. Read the parent letter for exact directions.

My parents just need a little help in knowing how to help their child. They love this!!
