The learning record sheet is a simple way for students and parents to keep track of their progress for each chapter or unit. It is an excel spreadsheet so you can adjust the number of lessons/quizzes for each chapter/unit of study. Students keep track of their grades daily, teachers can make quick notes on the record sheets daily, and parents can see their students progress daily.
Make a copy of the learning record and 3-hole punch for each student. The student's keep it in the front of their binder or folder and records their grades daily. I walk around and mark M - missing, I - incomplete, or a dash line - for topics students struggle with under the notes column. Great communication tool all around.
Even if you use an on-line gradebook so parents can access grades, this helps to communicate with those parents that do not have access to internet. This really helps keep students and parents up-to-date with their grades and progress.
The file contains a word document and excel spreadsheet.
