Product Description
Completing the "Learning Skills" section of report cards is often the most difficult thing to do. Using this file can help - and back up to administration, parents, and guardians (with evidence) why a student received an N, S, G, or E for particular learning skills.

Each of the 6 learning skills has its own page: collaboration, independent work, initiative, responsibility, self-regulation, and organization. These are as outlined in Ontario's "Growing Success: Assessment, Evaluation, and Reporting in Ontario Schools (Grades 1-12)."

You can have a Learning Skills Binder. Each student has his/her own section with each of these assessment pages. When it comes time to assign a "mark" for learning skills, simply see which column (N/S/G/E) has more checkmarks.

If you're going paperless, you can upload these into each student's section on the app you're using - such as Notability, Penultimate, Evernote, or iBooks.

If you really want to get imaginative (and trust your students), they can also have copies of these forms and self-assess themselves!

Date - record the date you've observed the task
Task - briefly note the task the student is doing (eg: "independent research - animal project")
NSGE - check one (or two) columns that describes the student's work habits

N - Needs Improvement
S - Satisfactory
G - Good
E - Excellent

My Learning Skills posters are available in both American and Canadian/UK spellings and with a variety of backgrounds from which to choose. Start here at Learning Skills Charts {Silly Dots Theme} - Canadian/UK Spelling to start exploring.
