11.05 MB | Seven stations pages
Go beyond questions and worksheets; use these stations to guide your students to be independent, critical thinkers as they study informational texts. These stations are designed to be used with any text and and can be differentiated to suit the needs of your students.
You will give your students a text to read and then use the stations as a way for them to recognize and analyze the author's purpose and choices. Students will move in small groups through the stations; it won't matter which order they do so.
In this file you will find:
-Stations that focus on understanding the text, point of view & purpose, organization & coherence, idea development, author's us of language, analyzing the claims, and questions for discussion.
-Titles for each station
-Task cards that will focus your students on the skills they need to be close readers and analyzers of text. There are options for independent work as well as for group discussion. I have also provided you with editable template for the task cards so you can adapt them to better suit your purposes.
-Reference sheets (where appropriate) that provide students with additional information.
