This workbook shows students how to learn using a technique which combines verbal and visual smarts.
The ability to keyword strengthens comprehension skills by allowing students to absorb the main meaning within sentences.
It encourages them to then activate their right hemispheres by asking them to convert keywords into pictures, and together the process aids recall and understanding.
This homeschool workbook is suitable for parents with children aged 9 to 13.
Although it is a homeschool resource, it can also be used in mainstream school classes, study skill classes, private tutoring sessions and homework activities.
This is a learning diary for parents/ tutors/ carers and students to work through together.
The aim of the workbook is for you and your children to develop learning skills which you both can apply to real-life learning situations.
Section One of this workbook invites you and your child to work through a series of tasks to help you understand and use a particular learning tool.
These tasks are done on a daily basis for the first week. At the end of the week, you and your child will reflect on the effectiveness of the learning tools and aspects of the learning that took place.
Section Two allows you and your child to apply this method to learning stuff from school text books, so during this week, you will be learning 25 facts from a textbook of your choice.
Section Three invites your child to use that method when preparing for actual tests or exams.
You will be required to use Test Reflection Sheets and to record your notes on them, then to reflect on the effectiveness of your learning.
