This is a fun multi-faceted entire class assignment. You will hand out the survey sheets asking students basic questions about themselves that will yield fun, common, but different answers amongst them.
Then, when the students turn in all the surveys, take them through it on the board as you plot the data in a histogram. Ask the students what they think about the answers and why the most common items are the most. Use it to explain outliers when there are answers that there is only one of, or a lot of.
