If you've ever wondered if it's possible to teach content as you're teaching procedures and routines at the beginning of the school year, this product is for YOU!!
Learning the Lingo was created to help re-acquaint students with academic vocabulary while teaching rituals and routines the first few weeks of school. There are 31 words that students will most likely hear all year, regardless of the grade level or content area. Learning the Lingo provides everything you need to help students understand these terms beyond a superficial definition. It includes word wall words, 8 x 11.5 " posters with student friendly definitions, pre-assessments, learning checks, discussion questions, and graphic organizers so students will not only be able to define these words but also explain how they contribute to their learning.
Learning the Lingo was designed to be used in small groups to encourage collaboration and develop rapport with one another. There is a suggested lesson plan if you need ideas on how to implement this in your classroom.
Plus, this is a Google Drive product, meaning you can easily teach, share, and customize the terms to suit your needs-all without the need to print or copy anything for your class! The graphic organizers are in both color and black and white and already include text boxes so your students can begin typing whenever you would like.
