PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

In this experiment, students measure out water using a graduated cylinder (or measuring tool of your choice) and pour into a baby's diaper. Through this experiment, they will be learning the steps of the Scientific Method:

1. Observe the world and ask questions
2. Do your research
3. Form a hypothesis
4. Test your hypothesis
5. Analyze your data
6. Draw conclusions

I use this in my 5th grade science class to start the year and teach the steps. I do several experiments to start the year, not to necessarily learn the content of the experiment, but the steps of doing any experiment. This is always a favorite and easy to amuse 5th graders!
