Some students are able to transfer work from read aloud and reading minilessons to their own note taking but many students struggle to create meaningful notes that move beyond basic plot retell. This is especially true for students with special education needs. This graphic organizer breaks down the process of meaningful note taking into three steps, scaffolding students while they read.
