My name is Ms. Penny, and I was a special ed teacher for 9 years before becoming a kindergarten teacher. I have published numerous educational workbooks for the classroom, and I am presently creating worksheets to help students meet the common core expectations for ELA.
Learning to read the color words is an ELA expectation, and being able to spell them is equally important when writing descriptive sentences.
These activity sheets are easy and fun for any child who is beginning to learn to read and write the following color words: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, black, white, and pink.
Each worksheet provides a color song to a well-known tune which reinforces the spelling of the color word through auditory recall. A tracing exercise and a coloring activity is also incorporated to reinforce the correct spelling of the written color word and to strengthen the association between the word and its color.
