For the past few years, I have been working on my classroom management. After one failed attempt and another, I always come back to my clip chart because it's consistent and it helps me be consistent.
One thing that has changed about my philosophy and views in the classroom is having a growth mindset and always being mindful of students feelings and using the responsive classroom to support that.
What I did, was I created a leveled system. This leveled system is somewhat related to Marzano because I also liked that thinking as well. I took all these great ideas and rolled them into one.
Basically, I would place my clip chart and students would move up and down but the way it worked for me was A LOT of conferencing would go on whether a student moved up or down. We always talked about the 'WHY' were we being recognized whether it was a negative or positive.
ALWAYS think about the WHOLE child. This is just something that helps with the consistency as well as communication with parents.
