Are you currently enjoying the beautiful fall leaves? We have some amazing leaves here in Pennsylvania. The leaves and a book called, My Leaf Book by Monica Wellington have inspired the first pack in the Learning with Littles series. The book is not necessary for the pack, but it does give kids great background knowledge on different leaves!
In Pack #1 you will receive 5 activities to do with your preschoolers or kindergartners.
Activity #1: Go on a leaf scavenger hunt and then create a leaf book with the leaves you found on the hunt. Your students can use paint or do crayon rubbings for the different leaf pages. *Scavenger hunt paper included.
Activity #2: Create a sensory bin with real or fake leaves. Throw in some acorn cards with different pictures on the acorns. Lay leaf letter cards with letters on the ground next to the bin. Students can dig through the bin to find letter sound matches and match the acorn to the leaf. *You can skip a sensory bin if you would prefer!
Activity #3: Clip cards. Students will count cards that have leaves on them from 1-20. Students will then use a clothespin to clip the correct number of leaves on the card.
Activity #4: Memory. This is just a classic, fun game of memory using leaf cards.
Activity #5: Race to the Leaf. This activity is good for up to 4 players, although I have used it with just my daughter as well. You try to race from one side of the game board over to the leaf by correctly identifying letter names or letter sounds. The first person to the leaf is the winner!
