This is a summer packet for incoming 3rd graders. The file includes worksheets for reading and math for the teacher to copy and give to 2nd graders who are leaving 2nd and getting ready to enter 3rd grade. Two reading comprehension passages are included (1 Fiction and 1 Non-Fiction). Two bonus map skills activities are included and 1 bonus science activity about science tools. 12 Reading Worksheets and 15 Math Worksheets are provided. Activities are aligned to the common core standards as listed below.

An editable file is included to create your own cover sheet to send home to parents. The font used to create the letter is included in the file. Simply type and print. The other file included is a pdf of all of the worksheets. An answer key is also provided.

CCSS.Math.Content.2.OA.B.2 Fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies.2 By end of Grade 2, know from memory all sums of two one-digit numbers.

CCSS.Math.Content.2.NBT.A.3 Read and write numbers to 1000 using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form.
