Product Description
Lectura con preguntas al estilo de AP Spanish Language and Culture.

Authentic Reading by Mexican Nobel Prize Winner of Literature Octavio Paz. This is one of his most famous readings titled "The Day of the Dead",

I used this reading with my AP Spanish Language and Culture Class.

I trimmed the reading to 2 pages less, added pictures for scaffoling and reading comprehension questions.

Includes:

Shortened and revised reading with images
Reading Comprehension Questions
Images on every paper to help scaffoling
Includes Answer Key
Includes annotated version for the teacher to highlight important vocab and sentences.
I used the Jigsaw Strategy, because the reading is very long. After students complete the jigsaw, I allow them to answer the questions independently or in groups.

You can find a Jigsaw Organizer here in case you don't have one already:

Octavio Paz does a beautiful job at explaining where Mexico's fascination with death comes from and how it has evolved from the aztecs to the present. AMAZING!

Great reading for the Unit on Educational Communities. Traditions and Values.

Las comunidades educativas. Las tradiciones y los valores.
