This is a short but powerful set of notes that will help your students realize and master the differences between observations and inferences. Buy today to flip your classroom tomorrow! These notes utilize Cornell style 2-column notes format. I usually use this as a first set of notes with my kids, so I use the notes to model how to take Cornell notes as well. So you know what you're buying, I've uploaded a video preview of this resource, so check that out.
If you use this resource, you'll have two real life, cool, examples of how observations lead to inferences. First, you'll see an inquisitive puffer fish, our class pet, observe rubbing alcohol dripping down the outside glass of his aquarium. I've noticed my kids really like watching this, and find it cute - who knew fish can make observations, too? Then later on, your kids will make inferences about snails using a really cool video I took that I compare to Michael Jackson's Thriller (since the snails emerge out of the sand like zombies suddenly). These videos are hosted on my YouTube account so you'll have access to them, too once you buy/download this resource. If you want to see them beforehand, here they are:
