The New Deal can be confusing and it is important to wrap it all up and teach your students why it was so important. This activity will do all that and more!
This "New Deal in Action " Activity includes:
1) A graphic organizer and document-based activity that gives your students the opportunity to investigate the legacies the New Deal, such as FDR, Eleanor Roosevelt, deficit spending, financial regulation, Social Security, and the New Deal Coalition, and critically think as to how they have impacted America over time. Finally, students will read a letter written about a man who worked in the CCC. This will give them a personal account of what New Deal programs did to help Americans in need. In response to the letter, students will write a reflection about the impact of the New Deal programs on the people.
2) A detailed answer key to the lesson activity to save you time and help guide student comprehension.
If you need a presentation that aligns with this activity check out our bundle that offers this activity along with a PowerPoint, Keynote and PDF version of a fully customizable lecture to present to your students prior to completing this activity.
