This is a comprehensive powerpoint presentation about the privileges which exist in American law which can be used to protect oneself in a legal proceeding. Some of these privileges only apply to criminal law cases whereas others apply to both criminal and civil. These privileges include: attorney-client; doctor-patient, reporter-source, priest-penitent, spouse-spouse, criminal defendant taking witness stand, any witness criminally incriminating himself, state secrets (national security) and so forth. Actual cases are used throughout by defendants' raising a privilege in order to shield themselves during trials.
