1st Grade Dolch Word practice.
Version 1: Roll, Say, Keep! Students place deck of cards face down. They choose six cards from the top of the deck and place one on each of the six squares on their board. They roll a die. Whatever number shows, they must read the word placed on the corresponding square on their board. If they get the word correct, they may keep the card and replace it with a new one from the top of the deck. If they get it incorrect, they leave it on the board and continue play. They may play until all cards are gone.
Version 2: Roll and Read! Students are given six words (either words that are being worked on, or words that they need to practice). They roll the die and read the word in the corresponding square. They continue play like this for as long as you would like them to practice that particular set of cards.
