This is the perfect way for middle schoolers to use those unifix cubes that have been stored in your closet all year. Students will be given three lengths ( A, B, and C) and you may assign each letter a color. They have to use these lengths to try and create a triangle. Some sets of numbers will create a triangle and some will not. As they do this activity, they will have a checklist and mark the sets of number that either create or do not create a triangle.
Included in this purchase:
- Unifix cube activity sheet (with practice problems and a free response question)
- Teacher instructions
- Card sort with sets of three numbers where students decide if it belongs in the 'Triangle' column or the 'Not A Triangle' column
- Matching card sort (sets of two lengths to be matched with the correct inequality for the third length)
- Answer Key
