This worksheet can be used to help students critically analyze the benefits and drawbacks to Vladimir Lenin's seizure of power during the Russian Revolution. This activity begins on an individual basis, where students contemplate their stance. Then, the class is broken up into groups on 2-3 students with similar thesis. The students research to find evidence to back up their claim, engage in a writing activity to synthesize the information, and finally engage in a debate. Lastly, students are asked to view a Ted Ed video available on Youtube, in order to see the viewpoint of some historians on the matter. A revised claim is created if necessary.
