This unit highlights the wonderful works of renowned children's book author, Leo Lionni! Students utilize higher-level thinking skills when comparing books written by the same author. After reading or listening to several works by Leo Lionni, students will engage in literary skills such as: inference, prediction, theme, character analysis, problem and solution, plot development, and similes. For the book, It's Mine, students will cut out and arrange story sentences in sequential order. There is also a Venn diagram to aid in comparing and contrasting two of the books. Students are also encouraged to support their answers with textual evidence.
