This family-friendly novel is fourth in the historically based series, "The Life and Travels of Da Vinci" (though they can be enjoyed in any order).
This novel begins as Leonardo and his good friend Luca Pacioli head back to Florence from Venice. Leonardo returns as an accomplished artist (thanks largely to the fame the Last Supper mural has already brought him). In Florence he begins work on several artistic commissions before leaving to spend nine months working for the ruthless Cesare Borgia as his military advisor and engineer. This book follows both his time in Florence and his time working for Borgia across central Italy.
