PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This product is meant to be used after reading the St. Denis section of LES MISÉRABLES or at the very end of the book.

Note: Quotations are based on the 1964 abridged edition of the book translated by Charles E. Wilbour.

Also note: These puzzles are fun but challenging. Teachers may want to insert letter hints before copying, allow extra time, or have students work in pairs.

Each of these QUOTEFALL puzzles contains a memorable quotation from the Jean Valjean section of LES MISÉRABLES. Using a process of elimination, students form the words of each quotation by transferring letters from below the puzzle grid to squares in the columns directly above.

QUOTEFALLS require students to use their knowledge of LES MISÉRABLES, along with their knowledge of spelling, phonics, vocabulary, and language! Students love these puzzles!

Here are some examples of the quotations included.

* The touch of an evil man is often enough to corrupt a good deed and to make an evil result spring from it. (513)
* To love or to have loved, that is enough. Ask nothing further.
There is no other pearl to be found in the dark folds of life. To love is a consummation. (483)
* Just as conflagrations light up the whole city, revolutions light up the whole human race. (416)
