Thank you for checking out my TPT products!
This emergent reader is meant to assist in developing skills in representing numbers from 1 to 10. Students will also have the opportunity to practice their classroom vocabulary throughout the book.
First I have included a large version of the book. This can be used to introduce the concept of representing numbers to students or it can be done together via Aver or Elmo. When completed this book can be added to the classroom library in a duotang. My students love seeing work we have co-created in our library!
For the student version of the book, I usually photocopy this book 2-sided to save paper. I staple along the sides and cut the booklets in half. On each page students will: read the sentence, print the number and word, complete the 10 frame and create a tally count in the blank box. The same can be done in the big book version. Each book also includes a visual dictionary of numbers 1-10 for students to reference. Once completed, this book can be used during guided reading centers or sent home as a part of your at-home reading program.
The posters are available in colour and black and white. The posters can be printed and used as visual support for students. Alternatively, the posters can be used for a math centre to review concepts of representing numbers using math manipulatives. The b&w version can be hand-coloured by students or used as an assessment.
Positive feedback is always appreciated. If you like this activity, please leave your comments in my TPT store.
