This handwriting booklet introduces each letter of the alphabet, concentrating on form and recognition.
Each letter is introduced as a whole with guiding "start" dots. Then, they are broken down into individual strokes with guiding dots.
Finally, students write the complete letter.
IMPORTANT: You will notice two things that vary from other handwriting worksheets. One is that the letters and shapes to be traced are outlined in solid grey characters, instead of a dashed text. This is because, according to my research and experience, children can have trouble focusing on a dot-to-dot style line as a "whole". Having a solid, grey line helps to view the whole line, instead of its many dots or dashes.
The other difference is that in the handwriting section of each page, there is only a TOP line. This is because again, according to my research and experience, having only a top line will help children to remember to focus on starting each letter or stroke from the TOP [ie. the only line!], instead of having three separate lines to confuse them with.
I have noticed drastic improvement in my students' handwriting from using this system - I hope you do too!
