In this interactive activity, students work together to write a report of a sports injury based on a video clip.
After completing an example together, the student watch videos of four different sports injuries and respond to questions about what they see. Then, students are broken into groups and write a report of the injury based on their responses. Finally, student groups present their injury reports to the class.
Included in this packet of materials are:
- A presentation that includes an example video with questions and responses to model the activity and videos of four sports injuries (hockey, baseball, basketball, and soccer)
- A worksheet with questions to complete about each video, to scaffold the report writing
- A mad-libs style sheet to fill in to complete the final report. This was used as a tool for differentiation and given only to some students. Others completed the report without this additional scaffold.
