Product Description
This is perfect to include in your end of year activities to keep students actively engaged before summer! It includes nine of my summer/end of year activities for students' interactive notebooks at a highly discounted price. You can view or purchase each item individually as well.

Please view the thumbnails or visit the projects individually for additional page views.

My “Less Mess” Interactive Notebook Activities allow for two simple steps: cut around the border and glue it in. That’s it! They are perfect for teachers who may have their students for just one short period per day but still need to cover study skills. However, if you are a big fan of the “folds and flaps” that usually come with interactive notebooks, this resource can be a nice supplement to add to what you already have or to use on days when you may have less time.

The pages are designed so that they will work in spiral notebooks, composition books, three hole binders, or as individual activity pages if you are not yet fully ready to commit to interactive notebooks in your classroom.

Summer's Setting Example
Research a City/Country with Example

"Less Mess" Travel Research Activities

This resource allows your students to "travel" to another country by way of doing research on the internet.

The first two pages are composed of slips with the countries' names for you to assign a country to each student. You could certainly do it any way you like whether by means of giving each student a slip, putting all the slips in a hat, putting all the slips on the board and then drawing numbers for students to select their countries, etc.

After that, students research their countries on the provided research sheet (with example included).

Students then "pack" their suitcases by illustrating important things to pack based on their research (for example: an umbrella for England, etc.)

Finally, students are able to summarize their research by writing postcards from the countries to friends, relatives, or even you! A postcard is provided for each of the 22 countries as well as a blank postcard if you want to allow students to choose their own countries. The postcards would be great in their interactive notebook but would also make a fun bulletin board display.

"Less Mess" Summer Action Verb Puzzle

Your students will enjoy this summer action verb puzzle. The catch is that the word list is not supplied. Students must supply appropriate action verbs to complete the phrases and then find them in the puzzle. An answer key is provided for your convenience. There is also an adapted version where the first letter of each verb is provided.

"Less Mess" Goals for my Future (Emojis)

These posters work well at any point of the school year. They would be great at the beginning of the year as a goal setting activity. Students could set goals that would help them to graduate from the current school year (completing homework, studying for tests, etc.)

These posters would also work well at the end of the school year. Students could set goals for the following school year OR for their futures (involving college, their future careers, their future families, etc.)

Each student would write his/her goals in the speech bubbles and then color the emoji. They could add hair to the emoji as well if they want. There is also a page with just speech bubbles in case you’d like to have students draw themselves (or to provide students with a choice between using the printed students or drawing themselves).

The set includes ten different emoji posters and one without an emoji for drawing. These would work well in interactive notebooks but would also make a fun bulletin board display.

"Less Mess" Goals for My Future-Goals Posters

These posters work well at any point of the school year. They would be great at the beginning of the year as a goal setting activity. Students could set goals that would help them to graduate from the current school year (completing homework, studying for tests, etc.)

These posters would also work well at the end of the school year. Students could set goals for the following school year OR for their futures (involving college, their future careers, their future families, etc.)

Each student would write his/her goals in the speech bubbles and then color the boy/girl. There is also a page with just speech bubbles in case you’d like to have students draw themselves (or to provide students with a choice between using the printed students or drawing themselves).

The set includes two boy posters, two girl posters, and one poster with just speech bubbles.

"Less Mess" Summer/End of Year Writing Prompt Pages

The pages are designed so that they will work in spiral notebooks, composition books, three hole binders, or as individual activity pages if you are not yet fully ready to commit to interactive notebooks in your classroom.

All 16 awards are included in both line art and grayscale art. In addition, all 16 awards are also included in quarter page format in case you would like students to make mini-booklets. Students can do one award or several depending upon how you might like to use the awards in your own classroom.
