This is the first lesson in having students learn the alphabet in American Sign Language. The alphabet is extremely important considering many words in the language do not have actual signs attached to them. Knowing the alphabet and fingerspelling the word is a completely acceptable means of communication for ASL. The lesson has an alphabet chart for the students to follow as well as a video of the teacher modeling how to do all of the signs. There is also an activity and a final assessment in which the students sign with one another.
