2.5 Acceleration Notes
Covers the definition and method of calculating an object's acceleration, the difference between positive and negative acceleration, and the types of units used to express acceleration. This notes sheet comes with an (A) version that has blanks for students to fill out as well as a completed (B) version for students who are absent or may require accommodations.

Students practice calculating an object's acceleration based on word problems. This practice sheet comes with an (A) version to be used for the majority of students as well as a shorter and/or different (B) version to be used for students who are absent or may require accommodations.
2.5 Acceleration Lab
Students answer the question "What affect does increasing the height of the ramp have on the cart’s acceleration?" by using technology to measure a cart's speed and calculating its acceleration. This lab follows the scientific method as taught in Lesson 1.3.
Note: this lab is written specifically to be used with Frey Scientific’s CPO Science equipment but can be adapted to fit what you have available in your classroom.
2.5 Acceleration Trade-and-Check
This document contains 4 word problems requiring students to find an object's acceleration. Pass them out one at a time, have each person in a group of 4 solve the same problem, shuffle and redistribute them. Then read the answer aloud and have students raise their hand if the paper they are holding has the correct answer. A quick way to see how students are catching on without putting them on the spot.
