Lesson Career Cluster Investigation video link & 2 research links
This is a lesson Career Cluster Investigation that you can use to cover your career curriculum standards and benchmarks. It includes 16 slides and is a great way to explain career clusters. I really like this lesson and have found it to be both easy to teach and a great springboard for discussions.
This lesson is geared for Kindergarten through 4th or 5th grades lesson. The lesson will take at least 30-45 minutes, depending on the amount of discussion that you generate. It could easily be turned into 2 lessons, the first covering the basic information and how to navigate sites and the next lesson dedicated to researching the interactive career sites.
Included is a worksheet that can be copied and put into a Word document to survey interests and skills.
After your lesson(s) are taught, I typically use a lesson to allow students to do research on the career cluster that they feel most interests and fits them.
The PowerPoint is customizable and includes comprehension questions to support you in your lesson. The presentation includes both animations and transitions to hold your students' interest. Make your lesson come alive for your students and help them to connect to the concept in a fun way that will help them to remember the important lessons you need for them to remember.
