This lesson is designed to guide students to an understanding of scale, the parts of an atom, SI units and scientific notation, and lead them to consider the behavior of electrons in a nucleus, to serve as a ground for reading and discussion of electron behavior (e.g. the quantum model and VSEPR theory).
