This is a complete 60 min. lesson packet on NEW YEAR for middle school ELL and/or special needs students in a Humanities class. This fantastic 50-page lesson focuses on Common Core Standard RI 6.1: Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. By the end of the lesson students will be able to identify the main idea and supporting details on the text "New Year, New Country" using a graphic organizer. The standards are presented in a kid friendly language in this engaging lesson for our students with diverse learning needs!
