This lesson plan's goal is for students to identify and define the connections between Greek Democracy and Roman Republic to modern governments like the United States. Students will describe in writing how each government is related, the similarities and their opinion on which government is the most efficient.
a. Students will be able to determine the connections between the Greek Democracy and the Roman Republic. Students will be able to attain this goal by studying the definitions of each government and how they differ.
b. Students will be able to identify how each of these Ancient governments influenced the United States government today by acknowledging which parts of both systems the Founding Fathers used to create the modern government we have today.
c. Students will be able to discuss with peers the three different government systems and how they are connected by discussing as a class the qualities of each government.
