Product Description
This lesson plan should be used to teach students how to elaborate when writing argumentative (persuasive) or informational (expository) text-based essays. The lesson is based on a newspaper article but can be adapted for use with any text. The main idea of the lesson is to get students asking themselves, "so what," in regard to text-based evidence they plan to use in their own writing. This plan can be used as is, or it can be adapted for use with all grade levels, 6-12. This lesson was created with Common Core Standards in mind. Please contact The School Mate with questions.
