PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a full lesson plan written in Teacher's College format with all components included; teaching point, aim, rationale, materials, teaching, active engagement, link, and share time. The lesson teaches students to jot their thinking about facts in non-fiction using prompts that help spur good conversations. I provided two options for popular trade books that can be used- Recess at 20 Below, and Deadliest Animals. Therefore, this can be two lesson plans if you have both books and you want to focus on the aim more than once. I also included pictures of the anchor chart, as well as student work samples, and mini anchor charts that can be printed out on card stock for students' independent use. This is great for an observation or if you just don't feel like spending hours typing up a lesson plan.
