This is a great resources for teacher who wants to teach about Buddhism while teaching a skill, annotation. The lesson plan uses the Understanding By Design template in which teachers receive an aim (What are the key tenets of Buddhism?), do now, key ideas, vocabulary, hook, modeling, guided practice, and independent practice, and a closing.
The three page worksheet is very organized and wonderful for a learner who needs structure to get through a challenging lesson. Worksheet includes guided fill-in-the-blank notes, a mini lesson on how to read and annotate difficult text (providing the student with buddhist text), guided practice with room in the margins for annotations, and independent practice where students are assessed on their annotations and their paragraph answers to the summarizing questions.
