This lesson involves a motivating puppet skit that introduces the students to the thinking they will be doing during and after the lesson. You can create your own puppets using popsicle sticks and tag board , as well as a puppet theater using a project board and cutting a large hole in the center. You can decorate it and stand it up. I have a wooden theater and puppets I invested in through amazon.com. The lesson can be done over the course of two sessions depending on your schedule. There is a link to the story online, but you need an interactive whiteboard ( ex smart board ). I play the story without voice and turn the pages myself after promoting class discussions.
It addresses standards from grades 2-4, which are included in the plan. You can edit depending on your grade. Have fun!!
