These are the fillable templates for the Lesson Planning Guide 2nd Edition. The Lesson Planning Guide 2nd Edition is designed for a special needs middle school classroom (grades 6-8) based off of prerequisite skills for the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. I have not yet made a guide for elementary or high school grades, but I'm providing my templates so that teachers grades K-12 can create their own scope and sequence, pacing calendars, weekly plan and lesson plans based off the the middle school plan that I created.
Please note: THIS DOWNLOAD IS THE FILLABLE TEMPLATES FOR THE LESSON PLANNING GUIDE, and it can be used to create a plan for students grades K-12.
The Guide that I created is designed for a middle school special needs classroom. These classrooms are also called specialized support classrooms or alternative learning environments. The link to this Guide is https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Lesson-Planning-Guide-2nd-Edition-2568063
This is my newest lesson planning guide designed specifically for middle school teachers who are trying to incorporate prerequisite skills and STAAR-Alt. 2 essence statements into their annual plans.
I designed this guide by contacting the department chairs in each subject area on my campus to get their year at a glance and pacing calendars. I then used the Curriculum Framework on the T.E.A. website to identify the prerequisite skills for the TEKS that are taught in general education. I went on from there, listing which prerequisite skills could be taught for every week of the school year in every subject.
THERE ARE 61 PAGES IN THESE FILLABLE TEMPLATES.
If you choose to purchase the accompanying Guide, your ADDITIONAL 76 pages will include:
*Lesson Planning Thread
-The chain of resources used in order to create a working plan.
*Year at a Glance Instructional Guide
*Year at a Glance for 6th, 7th and 8th Grade General Education
-It's helpful to know what general education teachers are teaching their students throughout the year.
*A.L.E. Year at a Glance for Grades 6, 7 and 8
*Year at a Glance Supporting Skills
-These are skills (many functional) that our students may still need to work on that are not grade appropriate, such as telling time.
*Weekly Plan Instructional Guide
*Weekly Plan Sample
*Scope and Sequence Instructional Guide
*Scope and Sequence
*Lesson Plan Instructional Guide
*Lesson Plan Sample
*Pacing Calendar Instructional Guide
*Pacing Calendars for all Core Subjects for Every Month of the School Year
-These calendars really are in a calendar format, so you can pull out the month you're in for every subject and choose from the list of prerequisite skills. All information that I put into these calendars came directly from the nearly 500 pages of Curriculum Framework on the T.E.A. website.
-Provided is a link to free downloads of age appropriate books that have been adapted for students with special needs (symbols, abridged text, etc.), and I created a list of books from this site that could be studied weekly or monthly in a special needs classroom.
*Academic Resource Links
-I purchase a lot of resources for my room from Teachers Pay Teachers, so I included several pages of links, divided by subject, that will help you teach the topics that are listed in the pacing calendar.
Purchasing the Companion Templates will be very helpful when designing your own personalized lesson plan.
