Lessons for the Soul is the product of a very personal journey in mental health, mindfulness, meditation, and timeless ancient wisdom. What began as a tool for myself organically grew and gradually transformed into what you see here; a resource for both students and teachers in an area very much lacking in consistency and effectiveness within many of our school systems. In my opinion, mental health, mindfulness, self-regulation, meditation, movement, relationship skills, healthy habits, and true self-knowledge all contribute to a healthy mind and soul. That is the ultimate hope of this product.
Who is this product for?
Like I mentioned above, Lessons for the Soul was originally made for myself/adults. But it grew and adapted substantially to a product for students and teachers alike. In terms of grade level, the lessons and activities are generally geared mostly toward middle school and even high school. The cool thing about this product is that the teachings will be received and internalized very differently from grade to grade, student to student depending on age, abilities, and experiences. This exact curriculum can be used with the same students year after year and the experience will be totally different because it is an experience of self-understanding and personal growth.
It is also important to note that while some activities may seem “too young” or “too old” to some students, all activities can be completed and enjoyed by all ages primarily because they have more purpose behind them than just being “crafts” or “activities”; meaning they are typically mindfulness or meditation tools, personal reflection activities, etc., all of which can be used in very personalized ways which is incredibly valuable.

How this product is organized:
Lessons For the Soul began simply as an interesting weekly journal but grew massively beyond that to include valuable teachings, activities, tools, meditations/visualizations, crafts, (and so much MORE) that correspond with each journal page. The product itself is generally set up as one lesson per week which includes:
- an instruction or “teaching” (which also usually includes a whole-class activity, suggested read aloud, anchor charts, etc.)
- followed by a group, partner, or independent extension activity (this might be a game, activity page, craft, DIY tool/resource, etc.)
- and finally an engaging journal page for students to complete independently after the lesson
There are a total of 12 themes (see below) with 3 lessons per theme (a grand total of 36 weeks worth of lessons!).
Themes (each theme includes 3 lessons, AT LEAST 3 activities, and 3 journal pages):
9. Purposeful speech
11. Healthy Habits
12. Pay it Forwards
Thank you so much for your support! I truly hope this product positively influences either your life or your student’s lives (even just one of your student’s lives!) as much as it has changed mine. Happy teaching and happy learning!
