This book includes twelve poems, five lesson plans and useful web-link and suggested activities.
Some of the poems address environmental issues such as 'Fishing?' and 'Beached Jellyfish' some explore feelings and experiences such as 'Dipping Feet at the End of the Day' and some are 'tongue in cheek' with scope for further exploration as in 'Mr. Crow'.
The book’s aim is to encourage children to consider how our actions – for better or for worse – affect both our personal and collective environment and explore ways we can address, or are already addressing, these issues.
It is a complete ready-to-use resource which once purchased can be photocopied as many times as needed. It also includes some cross-curricular suggestions/opportunities.
In addition the illustrations have been left colourless so that the children can colour them in as part of the lesson's activities.
