Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Short and Long Vowel Sounds

This is a common core reading game for kindergarten and first grade students. The game includes a short and long vowel game board, a student recording sheet, a spinner, game pieces, teacher and student directions, an "I Can" statement that can be posted in the classroom, and the kindergarten common core standards that it meets.

In this game, students spin the spinner, move their game piece, read the word, and say the short or long vowel in it. Next, students record the word under the correct vowel sound on the recording sheet. This game could be used in literacy stations and as an assessment for the teacher for short and long vowel sounds.
