Product Description
Learning how to build and read a set is a basic logic and math skill. It is a precursor to more advanced skills to come such as graphing, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and algebra. They are also useful tools for developing scientific methodology.

This resource contains eight write-the-room opportunities of ten objects divided into ocean/sea themes.

* Red frame: Color sets — Which object does NOT belong?
* Orange frame: Shape sets — Which object does NOT belong?
* Yellow & green frames: Colors & shape sets mixed practice — Which object does NOT belong?

* Blue frame: Color sets — Which object is missing?
* Purple frame: Shape sets — Which object is missing?
* Pink & brown frames: Colors & shape sets mixed practice — Which object is missing?

Select the cards you wish to have your students practice. Laminate, cut out and post at various locations around the room. You will also need to place six crayons (red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple) near each location for student use. Or, as an alternative, the children may simply carry the colors they will need with them. The crayons will need to be in some sort of container, however, as the crayons plus a clipboard is too many for little hands to carry. If you use mini-clipboards in your classroom, simply fold the full pages in half and have your students complete one side at a time. Alternatively, the cards may be placed into a container for use at a learning center.

Response Pages: Students will color or daub the correct color/object which does not belong or is missing in the set from a multiple choice selection.

Have fun with this activity.
