Reinforce sight words, practice sequencing, labeling and writing with this fun and engaging emergent reader and corresponding center activities! My "Let's Build a Snowman" mini book practices the sight words I, can, put, on, two and color words. The story features simple text that shows each step of building a snowman. I have included two levels of writing practice. For beginning writers, a traceable sentence starter is included. Students will draw a picture of a snowman. They will write a sentence telling one step of building a snowman. More advanced writers will write a complete sentence to match their picture. Additional response activities include a sequencing page and a snowman labeling page. Students will cut, order, and paste, all the steps of building a snowman and cut and paste to label a snowman. The writing center contains two pages of unlabeled full color sequence cards, three pages of labeled vocab cards, and four writing papers, with prompts.
