This is a color-coded periodic table activity and game. I have used these activities for years and find they help familiarize my students with the different parts of the periodic table and some properties of the elements.
Included in this file is the following:
*Periodic Table Game Instructions
*Practice Game Questions
*Colored Periodic Table
*Black and White Periodic Table
*Blank Periodic Table
*11 Question Pages (16 questions/page = 176 questions total)
*Blank Question Page (to write your own)
Questions cover the following:
*Metals, Nonmetals and Metalloids
*State of Matter
I generally spend two days introducing and color-coding the periodic table. We work through the parts together, but it could be done independently with a class that has some prior knowledge of elements and the periodic table.
I have included a colored periodic table as well as a black and white one. I have also included a blank periodic table if you would like your students to start from scratch. The Student Information page describes each of the components that will be labeled and/or colored on the periodic table. These can be read as a class or independently. This project could also be done in cooperative groups.
The game is a great way to reinforce the information from the color-coding activity. I have my students play the game immediately after finishing the activity, as well as a few days before the assessment to review.
I hope you and your students enjoy the Periodic Table Activity and Game. Please email me at email@example.com if you have any questions or concerns about this product.
